i watched Pumpkinhead recently. the characters made multiple unfortunate choices.
i remember advertisements for it in the Houston Chronicle TV Guide. those newsprint magazines with every show on every channel at every time. that was my favorite part of the sunday paper.
DID YOU GET THE SUNDAY PAPER?
growing up we only had broadcast tv. we didn’t have alot of money and my folks always thought cable tv content was smut anyway. so i couldn’t watch cable tv with any regularity. but we got that huge Sunday-edition paper. i’ll probably do a whole post on the sunday paper.
and i loved loved loved looking through the guide.
it’s actually the thing that got me interested in graphic design. especially the halloween-themed guides. it was scary and fun. i would see a movie graphic (i’m looking at you, ‘the hills have eyes’) and debate in my head whether i was brave enough to watch the movie or not. i always thought i was but i wasn’t.
“power point” (in the voice of steve carrel playing Michael Scott) is what i will use to pivot from random thought to random thought)
- power point
also i just got to the part of East of Eden where Samuel tells Adam that Cate’s running a depraved brothel in Salinas and i worry about Cal and Aaron. lots of emotions. that book has so much packed into each page.
- power point
about 1/3 of the way through
